For Davyeon Ross, the Trinidad-American cofounder of the sports analytics company ShotTracker, the path to raising more than $40 million in capital wasn’t easy—and it certainly wasn’t something he could have achieved on his own. 

“It takes a village,” says Ross, who credits much of his success in making business connections to his participation in the Dodgers Accelerator program, a joint initiative between the Los Angeles Dodgers and design and marketing consultancy R/GA Ventures that identifies and supports startups at the intersection of sports and entertainment.
