Yamiche Alcindor has been hired by NBC News as a Washington correspondent, The Hill has confirmed.
Ken Strickland, NBC News Senior Vice President and Washington Bureau Chief announced Alcindor’s hire in a memo to staff on Tuesday, saying she will cover the Biden administration, the impact of federal policies on communities across the country, and issues at the intersection of race, culture and politics.
Alcindor will join NBC in March and comes to the outlet from public broadcasting, currently at PBS NewsHour where she serves as the White House Correspondent. Last May, she also became the moderator of PBS’ Washington Week and will continue to host that program when she joins NBC, Strickland said.
