I can trace my professional career back to a singular moment; more accurately, a singular teacher.

Ms. Filomena was a math teacher in 7th grade who recognized my math skills before I did. This early boost in mathematics sparked my interest in business, which led me to Hampton University – a historically black university. Surrounded by even more educators who looked like myself, I grew into the professional I am today.

There are thousands of adults who can readily identify that teacher who truly saw them and pushed them to dig deeper. At the same time, we have too many students who lacked that inspirational figure within the classroom environment.
