Chelsea Spencer, 28 of Canton, travels around the country building brand awareness for her skin care products, and she’s making a pit stop in her hometown for a major event.

With her brand, called The Gold Reserve, she will join many other business owners when they set up in downtown Detroit for the Black Women’s Expo. It’s a business exhibition full of empowerment workshops and entertainment and it takes place Saturday and Sunday. It is expected to bring over 10,000 people to Huntington Place, formerly known as Cobo Hall.

This is the 27th year of what is called BWe NEXT, and it is typically held in Chicago. The expo was last held in Detroit about 21 years ago. The theme this year is “The Legacy Continues.”
