Dr. Lakeysha Hallmon is helping Black business owners bust through entrepreneurship barriers. In 2016, she founded the Village Market in Atlanta with a mission to give Black professionals the grants, mentorship and technical support needed to reach their potential. Hallmon’s all-Black storefront, The Village Retail, has facilitated more than $8.8 million in direct sales for Black enterprises. In 2020, Hallmon established her nonprofit Our Village United, where business owners can find culturally-competent, community-centered programs through Hallmon’s nonprofit.
