On a campus afternoon in Durham, North Carolina, Jordyn Weaver found herself wandering along Parrish Street.

The small stretch of downtown storefronts had once been a powerhouse of Black enterprise, a place so vibrant with ambition it earned the name “The Black Wall Street of Durham.”

She stood there as a fashion student at North Carolina Central University, realizing this history had been left out of most classrooms.

In that moment, she decided she would build something that brought that spirit back to life.

“It sparked a passion in me to want to empower the Black community through entrepreneurship and innovation,” she later said.
