The Culture Works Collective held an art and fashion gala in collaboration with KU’s Gifted Empowered Motivated Sisters at the Burge Union on Saturday, Nov. 7. The theme of the gala was “Black Environmentalism,” which displayed the ways that environmentalism intertwines with Black culture. In addition to the fashion show, the gala featured performances and artwork by KU students and local artists.
