This past weekend, the Colorado Black Arts Festival celebrated its 40th anniversary, marking four decades of showcasing Black art, music and culture while serving as a cultural anchor for the community.

“This year feels even more special because of all of those changes,” said Jalessa McIntosh, the festival’s executive director, during an interview with Colorado Matters host Chandra Thomas Whitfield. “We have definitely shown what I said earlier in that resilience.”
