Historically Minority-Serving Institutions (HMSI) are being elevated in a broadcast series produced by PBS North Carolina, the UNC system and the Board of Governors Committee on HMSI.
The new series, “The Innovators: The Transformative Power of NC’s Historically Black and American Indian Universities,” began featuring short stories on Sept. 20 about the academic programs, research and community partnerships at six of North Carolina’s public HMSIs. Faculty, students and alumni from each of the schools – Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, N.C. A&T State University, N.C. Central University, UNC-Pembroke and Winston-Salem State University – will share their perspectives.
