Keke Palmer has become the first woman to win the Emmy for Outstanding Host For A Game Show in 15 years. She is also now the first Black woman to be nominated and take home the win.
The 30-year-old won her second Emmy on Saturday (Jan. 6) at the Creative Arts Emmys for her role as host of NBC’s Password. According to Deadline, it’s the first time this category has been part of the Primetime Emmys since moving from the Daytime awards. Additionally, this is the first time in 50 years that a Password host has been nominated or won.
“Wow […] I’m really just so thankful, I’m almost speechless. I want to thank the people who allowed this to happen, thank you to Jimmy Fallon, thank to NBC,” said Palmer during her acceptance speech. She also thanked Carol Burnett, who was in the audience.
