The Richmond Symphony will host “Celebration of Black Music in Film” at the Carpenter Theatre in January.

Attendees can expect to listen to Luther Vandross’ work from “The Wiz,” music from Isaac Hayes’ “Shaft,” as well as soundscapes from “Get Out,” “Dream Girls” and more.

The event will feature Richmond jazz band Butcher Brown as guest artist, and Richmond Symphony’s guest conductor will be Naima Burrs.
